Mainly, my remote connection works fine and I have 100%
control over my desktop PC while on the move via a laptop -
both running windows XP. But, I can't seem to copy files
between the systems - the mean reason for wanting the
feature!
I get no error messages but can't drag and drop because
the icon representing the file(s) to be copied simply
won't proceed beyond its own window. Using "Control & C"
then "Control & V" doesn't do anything at all.
I have Norton firewalls installed on both machines both
even when both are disabled it makes no difference.

Open your remote desktop connection and select the "Local Resources" tab.
At the bottom of the tabbed page check "Disk drives".
Now when you connect to your desktop PC, open Windows Explorer on the
desktop and select "My Computer". You should see your laptop's drives
listed below your desktop's drives. They will act as though they are local
to your desktop PC.
Drag and drop from here.....but - be forewarned - file transfers are rather
slow.
