i connected remotely to a friends pc , i did not touch or change anything on theitr pc at all but after we disconnected they had problems with their keyboard, ie: instead of letters comming up when the keys were pressed numbers came up , this did not happen with all the keys just with some , what has happened, ? and could some one help me out? thanks

Some keyboards have the numberpad built into the letter part of the keyboard. So "J" would be 1, "K" would be 2, "I" would be 5, etc. If you had num lock on while you were connected then those settings were transfered over to him. So try turning off Num. Lock. I think that that is your problem.

right so in order to rectify the problem im thinking i have to reconnect to my friends pc but next time i leave the numlock key off ? will this sort it automatically or will i have to change something on their pc?

no,
all you have to do is turn num lock off on the computer with keyboard problems
