Hello again.
In my previous post I forgot to mention the other problem I have.
When outputting back to video, I see blocks scattered around the
screen. They are not compression artifacts. They are temporal in
nature, usually lagging the main video. Their duration is usually
short, but some have lasted several seconds. They also vary in size,
up to about a quarter of the screen. This can produce some unique,
but unwanted, effects. Such as the top of someone's head moving
independent of the rest of their body. I see the same effect in both
Premiere 6.5 and WinDV.

I've seen this problem with Premeire outputting to a Sony camera via
Firewire. It's like some weird 1394 data sync issue. Windows Movie
Maker didn't do it, which suggested a driver issue. Sony tech support
(IIRC) suggested the same thing. Still don't know what the deal was.
Maybe play with the dip switches on the ADS box? The switch settings
on the card that comes with the box are incorrect. (At least they
were in my case.) The correct settings are on their web site, and
depend on which revision box you have.
