I have to say that an AMD chip on a VIA chipset has given me the most problems. Why? Because that's all I ever use, so I have no basis for comparison.

I see stupid people. They're everywhere. They walk around like everyone else.

Looking strictly at the actual number of incidents, I'd have to say AMD/Via.

But since my old Dell p2 266 CAUSED my Touretts Syndrome, and because I've paid thousands of dollars in therapy because of it (my new system), I'd have to say I got a better deal with the AMD system. I'm at the point where I don't cuss my computer all the time; only when I'm on a caffiene high. And even then, I attribute it to msft.

On a side note, I will never (at least, in my lifetime) buy a Dell computer again.......

hand up - I have never had an issue that was related to cpu or chipset - AMD/INTEL/VIA.

Any PC probs I have had have invariably been user error. I'd like a 5th option - No problems due to any thanks.

Are you serious? Why have a poll when the result is obvious. Anyone who has "done time" here knows the most problematic combination is AMD/VIA.

I wonder...what is the speed of gravity?

How many computers would you have to build in order to have these problems? I've only built a couple from both manufacturers and never had a problem with either. Did I just get lucky, or was it just because I did not buy the motherboards when they first came out?

CPU Poll

Updated Vote Option: Via Cyrix/Intel
You left out these.
With their own chipset the Cyrix isn't too bad, although bog slow, but stick it in an Intel board and you've got George Bush with a bazooka. Guaranteed to blow itself up.
