Problem with display on disconnect

Sometimes I need to connect remotely to my laptop. The only problem is that when I disconnect from this machine, I can not get the display back. They only way for me to get back on to the machine (while sitting in front of it) is to reboot it.

What happens if you run "tscon 0 /dest:console" from the command line
on the remote desktop machine before you log out?
