Update: I can log into affected machine as system
administrator and RD works fine. This is puzzling because
prior to moving to this network I used RD extensively w/
out problems. The current network is a home network, no
server or domain present.

I take it the errors ocurred under a non-administrative level user?
What happens if you create a NEW limited user--does RD work OK?
I'm wondering whether this is either a software conflict of some sort with
other things installed for the particular user, or, perhaps a corrupted
profile for the user which gets the error.
I don't know a lot about how to fix corrupted profiles--I think using the
files and settings transfer wizard to try to export stuff, and then
re-creating the user would be the thing to do.

I think you may be right about possible software
conflicts. The affected account has admin rights. Then
again it could be a corrupted profile. I have no idea how
to go about "recreating" the user as you suggest. Could
you elaborate?

You should probably ask about this in some other group--not sure which,
though!
As I understand it, there's no simple repair for profile issues. So--if
there's nothing important at stake, you just delete the user and profile,
and re-create them.
Profiles can be managed in Properties of My Computer, advanced tab, middle
panel.
Delete is about all that can be done here, however. If you need to move
things like Outlook Express stored messages, Favorites, and the like, I
believe the way to do that is with the Files and Settings Transfer
wizard--but I've never tried to use it for this purpose.
