We have XP-Pro at work and on computer at home.
I'm trying to access data on work computer from home.
I want to use local programs to create and edit data on
the work computer.

I set up VPN. The VPN connection works; I can ping the
computer at work, watch bit totals build in the status
window. But I can't see work's shared directories when
using Windows Explorer on my home computer while the
connection is open. What am I missing?

Thanks for your help. Sam

You need to be running a WINS server in order to browse. Have you tried the UNC? Example:

\\PCName\ShareName
