I have a work pc running windows XP Pro and a laptop also
running pro. I cannot make remote desktop connect can
anyone help?

Please describe how both the PC and the laptop connect to the internet or your local LAN. Are they
behind a firewall/NAT/router? Any error messages when you try to connect? Have you read the How-To?
