You didn't mention which version of Win7 32bit or 64bit.

You can check the status of most games here in the Windows 7 Compatibility Center

Also be sure to check the game's websites to see if any updates or patches are in the work or already completed.

Oh I thought it only came in 64 bit.

Should get 64 bit?

Do you know how to add a 2nd harddrive and install Windows 7 on it?

I am running Vista now.

Have you heard of any GPU problems with Direct X 10 and Windows 7?

I have a GTS 8600 but might upgrade to the GTS 250 or 450 which I believe is direct. Not sure

No problems with Win7 and DX 10 or 11.

Your GTS 8600 will work fine with Win7. You can complete the install and setup and change/upgrade the video card when ever you wish

I can personally vouch that the following ones work under W7-64 bit:

StarCraft Brood wars
Age of Empires III
Battle for Middle Earth II

Most games will work just fine, sometimes with minor tweaks.

BF 2142 works on windows 7 64bit if they dont work try running as administrator etc then they usually work.

By the way, the compatibility website is not infallible. In the screenshot above, it lists C&C:The First Decade as being incompatible with Win 7 x64, but mine works perfectly.

I have yet to see a game that dsnt work with win 7 be it on 32 or 64 bit platform.
Whatever games I have played..they have worked flawlessly and much more smoother thn xp.
Sometimes you have to run the games as administrator or their setups etc. but it works for me all the time.
Not missing xp at all now ..
