Most specifically where are the Network Authentication (WPA etc) and the
encryption (AES/TKIP/WEP) settings stored for a wireless SSID in the
registry under XP SP2?
We are using AD GPOs to set wireless settings for 200+ laptops...but the
GPOs *cant* set WPA settings at this stage (bit of an ommision dont you
think M$).
Anyway - if we can work out where they are stored in the registry then we
might be able to write our own ADM file to set them anyway.....anyone know
where this stuff hangs out?
SUMMARY
The new Wireless Network (IEEE 802.11) Policies feature lets you apply
Active Directory-based Group Policy settings to your Wi-Fi Protected Access
(WPA) wireless network. By using Wireless Network (IEEE 802.11) Policies,
you can add, edit, or remove wireless network policy settings. You can also
define preferred wireless networks and define 802.1X authentication.

Thanks Jim,
But I have already pulled down this hotfix...installed it and it doesnt work
Unless I am missing something. Despite what the info on the hotfix says it
doesnt appear to applow me to set WPA option for wireless configuration
through a GPO.

Ok,
I worked it out....the patch *does* work and *does* allow you to manage WPA
settings if you install it on the W2k adc where you are going to manage
GPOs.
