Can you add DVD files to other DVD projects?

Say you burn a DVD that leaves a lot of room on the DVD. Is it possible to
go back and rip that DVD and add it to a larger project?

If you mean to reuse the same physical DVD disk, that's
not very practical. Even if you used a RW disk, it would be
made unavailable for more useful temporary uses. The price
of a -or+R disk is low enough that it makes more sense to
just burn your new larger project on another permanent disk.

If you mean to use the video data from an existing DVD as
input to a new larger DVD Authoring project, no problem.
Most DVD Authoring software should let you use a DVD as
input data. TMPGEnc DVD Author (TDA) even has a "Add
DVD video" button.
