hi guys,
I have very strange problem from last week. When ever i
try to Remote my server using RDP, the server shutsdown
and restarts. I checked the event manager on the server
and it didnt say anything. All the antiviruses are
uptodate. Can someone help me on this.

Server is windows 2000 server sp4 and patched up to date.

Regards
prassi

Have you tried doing this while watching the server screen?

Set the machine NOT to reboot on crashes, but to leave the crash screen up
there to see--this is done:
Properties of My Computer
Advanced tab
Startup and recovery panel
Click Startup and Recovery
Uncheck "automatically reboot."

That is already set not to restart. But its restarting as
soon as I RD.
There is nothing in the event log except saying that its
an unexpected shutdown.

Hmm - seems like a case for "disable all third-party drivers" and restart
and see whether the behavior changes?

Probably someone with a bit more experience can say what sorts of drivers
are most likely to do that. I've seen it with issues relating to serial
ports, I believe.
