How do I remove a wireless home network? it is causing annoying problems for
me.
I am using a linksys wireless router on sp2. one time i decided i wanted to
add a password(dumb idea). so i used wireless home network setup wizard and
made a home network called linksys with the password kidsa(ussually my name
on forums and it fit in the space of 5 letters). about 15 seconds after doing
that. my laptop was not able to receive signals from the internet anymore(it
still connects to the router but when i open internet explorer i get the page
not responding and when i use aim i get aim service cannot be reached)the
same thing happend before i had the router(meaning before i had the ability
to go online wirelessly using my laptop)

so does any one know how to remove this or atleast make it so i can go online?

if you need to know i have a
hp pavillion zv5240us notebook pc (exact wording on the sticker)
linksys wireless router
windows xp sp2

any help would be appriciated thank you

You can remove a wireless home network by opening the following property
page:
START > Network Connections
Right-click on "Wireless Connection" (your wireless adapter)
Select the option for "Properties"
From the property sheet that opens, select the "Wireless Networks" tab at
the top.
From the "Preferred Networks" box, select your preferred network name.
Click the "Remove" button just below it.
The profile will be removed from your system. You will need to create a new
profile to connect to your access point.

There is another option:
You've configured your client to use security, but the problem description,
it does not sound like your access point was similarly configured. Your
access point must be manually configured with the same settings as your
laptop. Consult the owners manual for your Linksys router to find out how
to configure its security settings.
