XP freezes up

My mouse freezes up,and screen saver stops. I must disconnect power to
restart my computer.I installed Norton system works,and scanned everything,
but I came up with nothing. I did not Install SP2 yet. I want to attempt to
repair problem first. Please HELP!! Thanks Randy

Take a look at the system event logs to see if anything logged the
crash...

However, these types of issues are typically hardware related. Run a
Memory Test (http://www.memtest86.com) first, and if it doesn't help,
check to make sure all of your devices are properly connected (i.e.,
reseat video card and network card, etc.)
