Premiere Pro on Dual Monitors

I've googled and searched this and the Premiere newsgroup and can't find the
answer...

I am running dual monitors from an ATI graphics card. I can use parts of
Premiere like the toolbar and clip window on either monitor. But the things I
want to put on the second monitor...the timeline and/or the monitor windows...I
can't get to move or stretch across to the other screen.

Software is Premiere Pro 1.5 and Op System is XP pro.

Suggestions?

Thanks,
Chase

May not be a Premiere or even OS issue. May be a video
driver issue.

I've done it before (wht Premiere 6.0 and Windows 2000)
Can you get other applications to stretch across two screens?

Simple question - if you launch notepad and maximize it does it go across
two monitors?

Yes. Every other app fine.

I can stretch it across, but it only comes up on one when launched and cannot
be stretched when maximized. In fact, no app can be moved when that app is
maximized.

On my dual head system (providing the options in the desktop are correctly)
if I launch notepad and maximize it the single instance fills both displays.

Have you set both monitors to the same res (as a test) even though this may
mean reducing the quality of one of the displays?

They are both at the same resolution.

The only way to get premier on both monitors is to click the restore
button and drag the corner across to the other screen
