If I use remote access to access computer A from computer
B, I would assume computer B is showing an image of what
computer A is doing.

My questions are:
Computer B does not require the software run on computer A
Performance will depend more on A

Correct. Some aspects of performance will depend on the speed of the link
between A and B.

Graphics intensive work, or uses demanding full motion video, aren't good
fits for the RDP protocol and video drivers involved in implementing this
feature.
