I'm coming into the middle of a Remote connection setup and don't have
all of the details, but I think I have enough to ask you all a
question. I recently switched a branch business in our office
building from one ISP to another and now they can't connect to their
home office. We switched from one broadband provider to another but
are still using the same router to get online. I can establish a VPN
connection to the remote office and can ping the computer I'm trying
to remote connect to, but can't use the remote connection tool to get
in. This has worked for them on the old connection, so my first
thought was that there was an IP address limitation somewhere that
needed to be changed to our new IP address, but I don't see that
anywhere on the Windows remote connection setup pages.
I can't say that I've definetly removed the VPN as the source of the
problem, but it appears that the Remote Connection is where my problem
is, so I turn to you to see if you have any ideas on what might be
causing it. The receiving router/firewall is a DLink DFL-300 and the
sending one is a Netgear MR314, but as I said that hasn't changed.
Only the IP address.
