mpeg2 then converting to avi with Procoder to finally edit in
Premier...having trouble with the interlacing...any motion on screen
gives me the horizontal lines...All software I used to playback
converted avi file gave same results...how do i fix this...what are the
best settings for my scenario...thanks

eh?

Use firewire to transfer the DV in it's native lossless DV/AVI format,
edit that. Interlacing exists in the DV and should be retained if the
final output is destined for DVD or back to DV-Tape for TV playback.

Don't have firewire? the cards are less than $15 now, you'll probably
pay more for the cable.

You'll want to remove interlacing (de-interlace) only if the
destination playback hardware is going to be your PC. (Eg, you want to
make some small MPEG files or DivX/AVI.
