I want to archive some video and I don't know which format is better. I
don't want to lose quality.
Some videos are from DVD (VOB). If I convert them to MPEG4 will I have
some lost? And how about I convert my MPEG1 352x240 videos to MPEG2
720x468?
I guess I can notice some different because of the resize, but once I
watch the 720x468 video in a 352x240 mode (50% zoom) I guess the que
quality will be the same?!
Thanks.

I presume you want to use mpeg4 to save space.
Why not keep all original formats?
That way, later (far in the future?) you can always use whatever system...
The disk space your old recordings take will become less and less important,
jus tsame these along with the playback programs... or at least the source
code of those, as computer systems will be totally different years from now.
'Anyone know how to play that VOB from 2005?, no? nowwhatdoido..".

I am used to MPEG-2 and prefer it. :)
