Steam won't let me d/l CS

Hi all,

I'm new to this NG and am just coming back to CS having not played it
since 1.3. I just bought a brand new, shrink-wrapped copy of Half Life
so that I could play CS again. I installed HL just fine and, as
instructed, installed Steam. It gave me a list of games that I was
entitled to download, so I clicked CounterStrike and tried to download
it. But it's saying that my CD key is already in use. Eh? I only just
bought the game...? I emailed Steam tech support but I haven't had a
reply. What's going on!?!? Help me please!

take it back to the shop you bought it from and ask for a replacement as
faulty software
