Hi group,

I am seeking some wireless headphones for gaming (mainly CounterStrike). I
want decent quality sound, closed type, which recharge themselves when
placed back on the base unit.

So far I have these two in mind:

SONY MDRRF820RK: http://tinyurl.com/25u3d

Sennheiser RS45: http://tinyurl.com/2krr9

Has anyboady any experience with wireless 'phones for games? Has anyone used
the above? Are they recommended at all?

Thanks in advance.

Elliot

Both of the above will be more than satisfactory for gaming. I went
for the ubercheapo Goodmans Pro CD 9007's which do everything
you ask, except they don't use a base unit. But for £30 I'm not
complaining. As with all radio wireless headsets, you're open to
influences from local magnetic fields, but in general it won't be too
great an issue. Before you decide on which to buy, take their
weight into account. The Goodmans I've got weigh a fair bit
and took me a few hours getting used to. The last thing you want
on your mind (no pun intended) when playing a session of CS
are a set of uncomfortably heavy headphones.

never mind they are not wireless - I just want to know when something
BAD is coming up behind me (or shooting me in the back)

Enjoy!

In my opinion, Sennheiser are a fantastic brand that make very very good
quality sound-equipment.

**BUT** - they're more expensive; is it worth paying the extra just for the
name, and that little bit extra sound quality? My thoughts: no chance... I'd
go for the Sony's - if you'd mentioned goodmans and Sennheiser i'd have said
the latter, but sony's also a very good brand - both are good...try do a bit
more searching, just to make sure you're getting the best deal.

I find my computer generates some form of magnetic interference, which
affects something - i can't remember what - something i don't use often tha
ti had out, and i noticed when the computer was on... MY GUITAR! .....the
amp...it generated a hum; but i'm sure the headphones will be insulted
enough for that - jjust make sure the infra-red (or radio) transmitter is as
far away from the computer as possible.
