Folks, as a neophyte into video editing, I was given the advice to
purchase a Pinnacle studio package including a video capture board and
external box to connect to my VCR.  I was also told to purchase the
X600 ATI All In Wonder PCI express card.  I did as dutifully told, only
to find out that the All in wonder card also does video capture.
I have both boards installed, and was wondering if anyone had
experience with these boards, which one is best for capturing analog
video from a vcr( I hope to turn all of our old vhs tapes into DVDs),
and will it hurt to leave both in the machine?
I have tried capturing with both cards, and was able to adjust some of
the incoming analog data with the Pinnacle card, but the All in Wonder
appears to drop fewer frames.  I just don't know.
Any help is GREATLY appreciated, as well as any other tips for a
newbie, thanks so much, Rfdillon@hal-pc.org
