firewire card recommendations

Hi. Another post. Another question. I'll be getting a mini DV camera soon
and for editing I'll need to get a firewire card. Are there any differences
in the brandnames of firewire card or are they all basically the same as far
as reliability and compatibility go.

Are there a couple of brands that seem better than the rest?
