Will Pinnacle Studio 8 allow overlapping clips?

Is it possible to have one segment overlapping another - i.e. a "double
exposure" effect in PS8? If so, it's not apparent to me how you would do it.

Studio 8 does not have 2 video tracks so therefore, no, you cannot have a
clip with partial transparency over another clip.

Sounds a little advanced for Pinnacle Studio unless you were able to
do something in another application and save it in a compatible AVI
fire for inport into Studio. I am not familiar enought with programs
like Avid or permier. Someone may have some thoughts. You can
produce picture in picture with Pinnacle Studio 9 Plus but that is
probably the best you can do.

Hollywood FX handles this, and other fancier stuff, for Studio. You
can use effects which load other video files (not tracks). The latest
version 9 has more options within Studio itself, but you'll still want
the HFX package (comes bundled with some studio versions).

Studio by design uses a single video source, which simplifies a lot
editing and interface. But the price for that is losing some advanced
options available in other programs. It makes up for it by being easy
and fast to use for all that it does. HFX really gives you a lot of
power (does the same for other editing apps it supports, but there are
many other effects plugins for them, while AFAIK HFX is it for
Studio).

Actually Have HFX but really only thought of it as a transition
program, but now that you mention it a overlapping is just another
transition effect. When I have time I am going to try it.
