I am contemplating buying a consumer HD camcorder, but every mfg. uses their own
proprietary codec to record video. I downloaded a few HD samples from the
Windows Media HD website and I was impressed.....excellent 1080p quality at
about 50 MB/min. of video.

Are there any HD camcorders using the WMV-HD codec to record video? That would
seem to be the best option since WMV format is very popular and its MPEG-4 codec
does such a great job with HD. Plus, with Blu-Ray to hit America this year it
might be possible to design a HD camcorder than can hold 6 hrs. of 1080p video
to a single Blu-Ray recordable disc.

What y'all think??
