Sending/receiving video via netmeeting - XP Home

I am running a P4 box with XP Home and a 1mb cable modem.

Whenever I am having a videoconference via netmeeting the video quality and
frame speed at both end appears to be very slow and jerky. Audio is fine.
This is unusual as prior to making the netmeet connection the video frame
speed looks great.

Any ideas?

Thanks.

Your nominally "1Mbps" cable modem might have a much slower upstream rate
cap. You need to tune your application to the much slower upstream rate,
rather than the downstream rate. A congested upstream will also have a bad
impact on downstream TCP traffic.
