True story:
Bosses wife calls me on my cell phone as I am walking home. "Bill, I was
out sick unexpectedly today, and I have a document I want to work with on
our home computer, so I put the disk in the drive, and open My
Computer--only there's no "A" drive--and there are a bunch of network
drives."
Having been in said bosses office earlier in the day and noticed the note on
his keyboard "Leave ON!" I was pretty quick on the uptake.
"Move the mouse to the center of the top of the screen--do you see a bar?"
(and, of course, the answer was yes, and we went through pinning the
connection bar, and she was able to get to her document.
Said spouse is a tenured professor at a large university, but not a techie.
And, bosses machine is a relatively new Dell with no built-in floppy drive.
Admittedly, this isn't much of a test of how well RD does as a remote
protocol--but I thought it was pretty funny, myself.
