Deleted Intervideo program, now computer can't detect C/D ..

I downloaded the free Intervideo Home Theatre program, decided I didn't
like it and took it off my system. Now my computer does not detect my
C and D drives. I think it must have taken off files it wasn't
supposed to. Do I need to re-install my whole Windows XP program, or
just part of it?

Thanks,
Sophie

System Restore did the trick. It was either the Home Video or
downloading Windows Media Player 10 that screwed up the drives. I'll
be more careful now. Thank you all for your help.

Sounds more like it crashed and corrupted a system file. Can you get to
the boot screen by pressing F8 as it's starting up?

And the same thing just happened to my pc this week with a Music Match
Jukebox install. It didn't install correctly and when I tried to remove it
after the reboot, no more CD drives.
