I am building a DVD with 3 separate movies. For the 1st movie I added
a commentary track (i.e. 2 audio streams for movie 1). That's where
the trouble started.
Now when I compile it, just for Movie 1, the video is extremely choppy.
The rest of the movies are fine.
All of the audio is PCM.
I've tried every permutation of compiling that can be done. All the
navigation works fine. It's just the choppiness which I think is
because I have two audio tracks, and maybe it cant' handle all that
data (btw, I have a FAST computer, so that's not the problem).
I've thought of converting all the data to mp2, but I worry about
compatability on players. How big of an issue is mp2 compatibility?
Do you think that doing mp2 or ac3 would solve it?
The only reason I haven't tried ac3 is that it costs money (for the
tmpgenc addon in dvd-lab) and besweet apparently has compatability
issues.

Mp2 audio for DVDs is well supported, but not universally
so, it has been no problem for the most part. If you've tried
it in all your players and it's good, then use it. If you intend to
make a DVD for wide distribution then you would have it
mastered and pressed anyway.

It is not MP2 audio. NOT. It is Mpeg1 Layer II.

Which is Mp2.
I know this a "Lame" answer, in fact here is the switch in
Lame:
* --mp2input MPEG Layer II input file
Assume the input file is a MPEG Layer II (ie MP2) file.
If the filename ends in ".mp2" LAME will assume it is a
MPEG Layer II file. For stdin or Layer II files which do
not end in .mp2 you need to use this switch.
