Hi everybody. I'm using ATI TV-Wonder VE card.

I've hooked up the 1/8" jack to my line in, set the levels in the sound
control panel, and I don't get any sound. I shouldn't say that. I get
sound, but at a near-nil level and only when I turn my speakers to max.
All other sounds come out fine, and anything else I plug into my
line-in jack on the sound card comes out fine as well.

I don't know what to do. ATI's support has been less than helpful.
Somebody help, I'm at my wits' end.

Regards,
NRGY

Here's what comes to mind for me:

First, make sure you've plugged the cable into the proper
connectors. If your setup is like mine, it's hard to see back there
and easy to use the wrong socket :-)

Do you have another audio device (I mean a regular stereo
amplifier's aux input) that you can plug the line-out into? You'd
probably need a 3.5 mm plug to left and right RCA plugs adapter.
Then you can tell if the card is outputting good sound.

Try a different cable - or the same cable somewhere else - to make
sure the cable is OK.

Good luck,
Gino

You might need to set the RECORDING volume levels.

Open up your speaker control. Options->Properties and click the record
radio button. Then press OK. The display will show recording levels.
Click on the "select" under line in and increase the volume.
