Hello,
Has anyone tried to find the type of audio in MPEG2 files using
DirectShow or some other way. Is it possible to distinguish between
MPEG2 Audio and AC3 audio in an MPEG2 file?
Using DirectShow it can be found by enumerating the media types of the
Elecard Demux output pin.
But is there any other way to do it.
Without rendering the file is it possible to find the type of audio in
an MPEG2 file?

Why not just play the file in a player that can display that information?
What do you have against rendering the MPEG? Even GSpot needs
to render an MPEG to get that data. You can read it directly with
VobEdit, but it will take as much time as it would to start the MPEG
in your player. ( Just set the search dialog window to all files instead
of just .vob)
