DVD compliance issues with Nero Burning ROM?

I'm creating some DVDs using Vegas 5 and DVD-Architecht. I use DVD-A to
build the menus and assemble/prepare the files and create the VIDEO_TS
folder.

When I use Nero Burning ROM to burn these files as a movie DVD, I get
an error message telling me the contents of the just-created VIDEO_TS
folder failed a compliance check, and the resulting DVD may not play
properly. Anyone know what the issue here is?

I would burn the DVD with DVD-A, but it seems like since I've installed
Nero, DVD-A isn't burning DVDs properly...
Thanks in advance for any assistance.

Thanks, but I guess what I am looking for is why DVD-A would produce
files that are not compliant with the DVD-5 standard. Alternatively,
does Nero Burning ROM use some sort of different standard for DVD video
files?

Dvd compliance means that some aspects must be considered. Find dvd
specifications on the internet if you please and compare your settings
with those given by the dvd 'authorities'.

It could be something very simple. For example, to go from one menu to
the next, there is supposed to be a Next Button on the menu. Some
programs allow the Chapter Button on your remote to skip to the next
menu. Most players can handle this, but would be flagged as an error
by Nero.

Note that I might not be 100% accurate in the example I gave above, but
it is the same sort of simple thing that can generate the error message.

Try burning it to an RW and see what happens. It could be that Nero is
being too fussy.

This is a long shot, but since you are using the Burning ROM application
try using the UDF/ISO format and check off the DVD compatibility box.
Might help might not.

Luck;

Probably both do use settings that are not 100% dvd-compliant: doing
so they can keep there own place on the market; if everything was
compliant with everything else there woud be no business for those who
make something special.

So it will be difficult; try programming yourself: you then have 'full
control', but it requires skill.

Which version of DVDA are you using? DVDA 1 splits the files at a
non-suggested size and Nero chokes. Try DVDA 2 to create folders. then
burn with Nero.
