This may be an XP problem, but I have to ask-----

I have two machines both XP with one SP1 and one SP2. The camera is a
Toshiba PDR3300 (USB).

The SP2 machine automatically detects the camera and uploading works
just dandy.

The SP1 machine fails to recognize presence of the camera at all.

The camera is not supposed to require software installation on XP,
just 98.

How do I get the SP1 machine to recognize this camera? 'Add new
hardware' doesn't do it either.

Please

The simple thing to do is go to Windows Update and update the Windows XP SP1
OS to SP2.
http://v4.windowsupdate.microsoft.com/en/default.asp

If you and using dialup, you can order a free CD from Microsoft. The
download is greater than 250 Megabytes.

Order Windows XP Service Pack 2 on CD.
