howdy, I'm looking in to purchasing an openGL video display card for my
win2k tower. I've been editing for a couple years completelyAfterEffects and
the BorisFX for Vegas would benefit from the openGL hardware. I'm not sure
to what extent actual realtime editing w/ multiple video fx would benefit
from openGL hardware, (perhaps someone could shed some light on that). Thee
fastest and most current card is certainly out of my range of about a
hundred bucks. Duel head display option would be good too. From what I've
read, the nVidia Quadro cards are supposedly the better cards out there for
systems performing video editing as well as compositing and 3D work. I've
also read that the ATI Radeon line is good too. After a brief look at ebay
for some pricing, it seemed that it would be completely possible to get an
AGP 2x/4x card w/ 128mb within my range yet, I was given lists of cards that
seemed so numerable even within the Radeon/Quadro line.
Would anyone one have any thoughts, suggestions or recommendations?
