go to http://myPhoneFiles.com/software, get the app and then send straight
from the computer to your phone, - any number of times - make voice ringers
out of CD tracks, MP3, WAV, OGG, AU or AVI (audio only) files, or record
your voice, pretty cool (!) take any part of any song and send it to the
phone as a ringer (you can even different songs)...

True..
but if you have a multimedia phone you can make a .wav file (cant be over
32kbps) host it on the internet (every ISP lets you make a web page(home
site).. store a 30 second 32 kbps file on the page it will be a pretty small
file .. direct your phone to it using the URL download it and save as ring
tone
It is free.. and you can use MS sound recorder to edit and make them

If you do this... do you get the "song" playing (multiple frequencies)
or do you get a "tone by tone" such as you'd get by manually
programming a ring tone?

I should have added that I have a T720, not a v400.... perhaps my
options are not as wide.

Hi Jimmy,
with the v400 you can have real songs as a ring tone.
I am not sure what kind of ring tones your phone has
The V 400 has Polyphonic/SuperTone/MP3 Tones
I looked up your phone and I see you can have "real music" ringtones.. If
you have multimedia access with that phone you can probably host the mp3 on
the web and download it to your phone
If not I know you will be able to play .midi files on your phone.
There are tons of free midi editing programs on the web for editing just the
riffs out from the .mid files..
Do a search in the newsgroups for midi or karaoke newsgroups on your news
server..
That's where to get the midis , all you have to do is edit them and somehow
save them to your phone

Thanks...I'll have to see if I can find some more pointers to
specifics... or maybe just try the v400 procedures and see if it's
the same.

myPhoneFiles app (myPhoneFiles.com) makes it a real simple process. Load
file, select part, send to phone. You can get the app for $14 now.
