I'm trying to set up a VPN server. I have read that I need to open ports on
my router. Do I need to open 1723, 500, 50 and 51? Do I really need all
these?

I'm also trying to set up a remote desktop connection. Does that work over
the VPN and therefore needs the same ports or does it need some other ports.

Wjhen setting up an FTP server I could use this webpage to test for
http://www.g6ftpserver.com/?page=f [...] =en#result WAN connectivity
from my LAN. Is there any similar sort of test I could do for my VPN server?

TIA!
