I seem to have successfully created a VPN connection with my computer at
home, it being the server. I get a small icon in the system tray as
confirmation of this.

If I right click on the icon and select 'Status', then 'Details'. I find
that the server address is 10.0.0.4. So if I type this into a browser I just
end up connecting, via HTTP, to one of the printers in the office! If I try
typing "\\10.0.0.4" I get told "Windows cannot find 10.0.0.4". If I try
"\\home_computer_name" I get the same.

If I look in My Network Places I just see the Domain & Workgroup we have in
our company, the connected VPN is not shown.

What do I need to do to be able to browse/use resources on the computer I
have seemingly connected to?

TIA

Can someone confirm whether I should be seeing an extra icon for my VPN when
viewing Entire Newtwork in My Network Places when I'm connected?
