I've heard that a DVD can play more than 2 hrs. My primary rendering
software is Pinnacle Studio 8, is there a way to do it with this s/w?

DVDshrink software?
Dual-layer DVD discs?

Compression. DVD is digital, it isn't analog. It has a file size
restriction, not a tape length restriction. Just make sure your movie
is under 4.7GB in MPEG compression, or use a dual layer disc.

As the other replies have said, compression will squeeze more video onto a
DVD. But the more you squeeze on, the less the quality.

Yes and Studio 8 also informs you of what percent under 100% the settings
will produce. Experimenting will show just how much under is acceptable for
the individual needs of the viewer.
