Very shiney.....give us some #'s too....i see 27800GT's.....3Dmark05 score and with that cooling are you OC'ing as well? Only one HDD?

nice cabling

Mate, that looks like a nice rig! 8)

8O wow geek.......you can tell what it is by the pic's? I couldn't even tell what it was that I was looking at.

But then again, you guys are lucky I can even turn my puter ON half the time!

Reply to qoop

You mean other then HALF THE PICTURE taking up by two giant cards? Thats easy to spot...They are WAY WAY too huge to be PCI cards.

And the cooler is easy to spot....its Aluminum and Copper, not a standard cooler.....

btw from the pic i could tell you the Ram brand and type, mobo board and type, and even the brand of the gpu's.....I am kind of geeky. But thats how the cookie crumbles.

Reply to pickxx

8O p...c....i.....ca...rds?

okay, I'm lost....what the hell is that?

Reply to qoop

Its a PCI card that is right below the PCIe slots on typical motherboards....they are smaller and have less bandwidth but have more cards to go in them. So they lose for speed but make up for in versitility.

Oh wait....i think you're being a smartass

nm then

Thanks I spent one morning cabling, just to realize I had a problem with the PSU. 20 pin vs 24 pin. I realize money wasn’t an issue when I spent $250 for the PSU and with the case being so shiny I figure it would be a shame not to just go ahead and get another video card now. Oh yeah, I’ll be OC’ing and I guess some test too. That’s if I don’t shock something first. I have wood on my floor now, because every time I get out of my chair and tough the computer I shock it and it hurts! I notice one of the lights on the video card wasn’t working and thought nothing of it until I realize that card was reaching 105C. I switch the cards around and now the light is on and more importantly the fan is spinning. Hehe. The cards did ok, until it reached 105c. In BF2 full detail 4x by 4x 1600x1200 and with just about every service started (trying to get network to work) plus eye candy on. If the computer does this well under these circumstances I am certain it will do very well once I get it set up correctly, but first I have to figure out the BIOS.

When are you going to finish the cabling? The front USB on your case aren't connected yet.

Reply to Tom_Smart

Yeah 105c is very not good....lol

Was it just a poorly seated gpu? or do you need to get a 80mm can to blow the air around?

Thats a great setup you have....

hope everythign works out.

I didn’t even know the Ram had lights on them, but that’s ok. I thought I would try the on-board sound, but it doesn’t realize I have 6.1. 6.1 seems to be neglected as an option. I’ll have to put my Audigy 2 in and put the crummy Live in this computer, but it pops my speakers and I think the Live card is part of the reason I lost two sets of Megawork speakers, so maybe I won’t use it.

Reply to jiffy

Yes that ram has lights on them...how did you not know? you payed WAY extra for that...lol

use onboard 5.1.....dont ruin your speakers over it.

Reply to pickxx

I’m not going to use the front connections. This PC is going to be strictly for games alone and I will run it as lean as I can. Beside the less it runs the better, since I have animal hair floating around.

It was idling at 60+ and I figured 105c wasn’t good. Haha.
I don’t know I push the video card in hard, also try different ATX and it still didn’t work. Switch the cards and it was ok. I was just about to test one at a time, but it work.

Thanks, so far no problem. Well beside the card fan not working. Any other problem has been user error. Trying to network is a real b*tch and that’s where I’m having trouble. One minute one sees it’s self, reboot and it doesn’t’.

Reply to jiffy

you need to get some good filters and seal up your case if you want to keep animal hair out....lol

you want to run it lean but you got a 250psu and ram with lights? lol

Reply to pickxx

I didn’t really search to long or hard and bought stuff that had good reviews. The lights turned out to be a bonus.

This PC doesn’t have the connection in the back for my speakers and I want to use this for playing music. I’ll let windows find the drivers and see if that helps. My game rig will be alright if i use the Audigy 2 card, but nope I don’t want to blow a 3rd set of speakers. Creative labs replace my speakers twice and the second time updated me to 6.1 and gave me an Audigy 2 card. Not bad support, if you ask me.

I have my PC’s on each side of my desk and just click a button to switch to one or the other, so each one will have a purpose. My P4 isn’t a slouch either. It has 1 gig and a 6800 U.

Reply to jiffy

Jesus, i need your bankroll.....

Reply to pickxx

It doesn’t take long to load down a PC with crap. Especially if you like to search, wink. I’ll let my P4 collect the spyware and go where I please, check the mail and stuff. Maybe even test games changes before I apply them to my gaming rig. I made some changes to BF2 alone that turned out to be for the worse. Not really sure how to filter this case. For now I have it off the ground to try and help.

Reply to jiffy

Well I guess I’ll put the Audigy2 card in and keep my figures crossed that WinXP will recognize it and let me install the drivers for it. Haha.

Actually this PC cost me about half of what I just bought a house for. I have two income properties, so far. I paid $5,000 for a house that is worth $30,000. It just goes to show what is money spent wisely, and not so. Since the house will pay for it’s self in no time, several times over. Not the PC though.

Reply to jiffy

Check out that 14 gauge wire coming off the PSU.

Reply to jiffy

That final pic of your new rig really looks tops, J!

Very, very nice rig. :D

you will have to block the side with some foam or something to block all air that isn't filtered and make sure all your intake fans have filters.

your exhasut doesn't need them.

It would be a small hassle but you would nevber get dust bunnies in your HSF and video cards or anything....so maybe its worth it to you.

I wasn't being a smart azz honest!

that picture looks like a really small, but cool, fridge. I'm telling ya, I really have no idea about computers!

I dont know that being outgoing is good....look at DH, he is outgoing and he is a hooker who stole my g/f.

girls who are outgoing are rare.

Reply to pickxx

why are they rare?

and did DH pay for your gf with all the whore money he made?

Reply to qoop

Yeah, at the end of every day, with his dayly handout.

Reply to RichPLS

I dont know....some girls are just brash, they arn't outgoing and witty.

I like shy girls, but ones that have a razor sharp wit....so what they do say is hillarious.

Reply to qoop

lol....nah i'm good.
As you have said...there are no ladies here....present company included.

Reply to pickxx

I think your right and sounds good to me. Now just to find the foam. That’s why I bought an aluminum case, just for it wouldn’t be so heavy to carry down stairs to clean it out.

Reply to jiffy

On my P4 I have six partitions and one of them is just for tools. There sure are a lot of tools out there and new ones coming. The same for another partition I have just for programs and another partition to store my stuff. Nope, none of that crap is going to make it on the gaming rig. I haven’t decided yet if I want to uninstall a game before I add a new one to the HDD. That’s about how free up I want it. Haha

Reply to jiffy

OR!!!

you could make all your fans intakes with filters and use the giant vents on the outside as exhausts....with enough preasure on the inside those huge holes will have air flow out like crazy.

Reply to pickxx

that's okay, as I've said, I'm not a lady.....they're too stuffy and uptight for me.

Plus women in history books never got there by being a proper lady

Reply to qoop

You want to be in a history book? Thats a random thing to throw out there.

Reply to pickxx

why is that a random thing to say?

I'm not planning on having kids, so there wont be anyone to remember me after I die, might as well leave some trace of me in the history books right?
