Here is a transcript of an online Chat with a Sony support person.
Anybody had a similar problem. Should I get rid of my Sony MicroMV
DCR-IP55.
Farrel Buchinsky > When I export a project the resultant video has
choppy audio.
Farrel Buchinsky > Is there an later version than version 3.1
Bowen_ > Please stay online while I check this information for you.
Bowen_ > What is the operating system of your computer?
Farrel Buchinsky > Windows xP
Bowen_ > Are you able to playback the video normally and clearly on the
Camcorder?
Farrel Buchinsky > Yes
Farrel Buchinsky > I am even able to edit it and then play it perfectly
in MovieShaker. The problem is only after I export it into any of the
formats that MovieShaker offers (for example QuickTime or Mpeg-1)
Bowen_ > I suggest that you uninstall and reinstall the Quicktime and
check if you are able to get clear audio.
Farrel Buchinsky > Why do you think it is a QuickTime problem.
Farrel Buchinsky > I am having the same problem even when I export as
Mpeg-1 and play it in Windows Media Player
Bowen_ > Since, you are able to play and edit the video normally using
the Movieshaker software, I suggest that you try reinstalling the
software and check if you are able to get clear audio.
Farrel Buchinsky > Your suggestion was the same suggestion that was
given by your colleague last night. I have already reinstalled the
MovieShaker software and it made no difference
Bowen_ > I meant to reinstall the quick time software and check if you
are able to get clear audio.
Farrel Buchinsky > But the problem even occurs when I do not use
QuickTime
Bowen_ > I suggest that you contact our Digital Imaging Hotline team at
1-800-222-7669 regarding this issue.
