I was just browsing old posts and found this below (full thread at
http://snipurl.com/dcur), which is a problem I'm having now. There
wasn't any answer to the problem and I'm wondering if anyone has any
ideas. I'm using the latest version of QuickTime and updated DirectX as
someone suggested, to no avail.
It happens when using QT (version 6.5.2) or iTunes.

Hi,
I just played some videos off of a cd that I've played before, but now
the audio is choppy and has an echo. It seems like it might be
playing the video too fast and skipping some of the playback. I ran
them off of my HD and got the same result.
Quicktime reports one is 2 track & data rate is 80.9 Kb/sec.
I also tried downloading a few .mov files and got the same results.
One was:
3 track & data rate 93.2 Kb/sec
Windows media player and other media programs all work fine with mp3,
