It's 6 GB in total. Not 6 GB per card, meaning each card in the "on-board" x-fire configuration has 3 GB available.

Would be so nice if Crossfire supported up to 8 GPUs, that would allow a computer enthusiastic with a very large wallet to buy four 7990s and Crossfire them...

Can't wait till this and Ivy Bridge are out. I know there is no major performance boost over what is available right now. I'm more interested in the power savings. My next system should be a nice improvement both speed and energy wise. Replacing a Core 2 Quad q8300, Radeon 4850 and 80+ PSU with an i5 3570K, Radeon HD 7850 or 7870 and an 80+ Gold PSU.

I would be rather cool if this "leak" was actually free of typos.

Q4 2012 comes before Q1 2012? Making the 6xxx series a futuristic card and thus ourselves time travelers?

Actually, I believe that in cards like the 6990/7990, the full memory is available. This contrasts with SLI/Crossfire where the memory does not combine (each card needs a copy of textures and such to work with).

I hate how Nvidia is already claiming to beat the crap out of AMD with their 6xx GPU. I perfer AMD dude to the fact I don't need to SLI just to get 3 monitor. Nvidia, please have something like eyefinity.

Yeah, ain't this like 3 days old news from TPU? Slow guys...
Anyway will be waiting for the HD7990... I just have to figure out what processor to use with it.... cos it's going to be faster than the CPUs we have out here today.
