Hello. I have been trying to use this program to cut out the relevant
segment from an .mpeg (about 500 mb total). I have tried two
techniques, but both routes produce a video file with no audio. The
first is the basic load approach, where I used a .wav file from the
segment I needed, recorded with Total Recorder. Then I used the Source
Range to splice and dice. Second route was with Merge and Cut. This
too produced a file with no audio. Please assist or suggest other
freeware if appropriate. Thanks for helping, this is for a college
course presentation and I really need the extra material to make it
work.
ciao,

Oh, I did neglect to mention that trying to use Virtual Dub for the
audio stream was stopped by an error message: "No video frames found
in .mpeg file". That is lousy. Does it mean that the video has
encryption or some protected material? Anyway, I also can't find a
good audio/video converter program and had to try TMPGEnc using a .wav.
Hope that clears things a bit.
Ciao,
Buzz

Try VideoReDo. It's not free, but it has a free trial period.
