Captured video 4:01 hours. Tried to add to new Sequence. Error:"The
duration of the resulting sequence would exceed 4 hours"

Seems to be an undocumented limitation...

Gotta love the Mac...it's just the best for video editing! Never gives and
error and always out performs the Windows machines. Where would the world be
without the superior performance of the Mac and the software written for it.
Viva la Apple!

In volume III of the manual is a glossary. The entry for "sequence"
states that a sequence can be up to 4 hours long.

You are allowed to have multiple sequences in a project, and 'each' of
them can be up to 4 hrs. The limit on a projects media seems to be disc
space.
I have a project with over 10 hrs of video in ~30 min clips, these will
be edited down to under 1/2/ hr.

When I tried the limit the system did not freeze, did not crash, nor did
I get a blue screen of death. Just a polite message that a limit would
be exceeded.

To Mark:

If you captured to one clip you need to make subclips. see manual for
details.
