Network error

I am using a dial up modem to connect to the terminal server in my office.
The computer can resolve the DNS okay but comes up with the following
message -
"The network connection was ended due to a network error. Please try
connecting to the remote computer again."
I have tried many times to connect without any luck.
I am using Win XP Home with service pack 2.
The computer seems to find the terminal server but does not connect to it
(just keeps giving the above error message).
Has anyone heard of this before?
Any ideas on how it can be fixed?
Many thanks.

For troubleshooting Remote Desktop issues, I do the following:
1st setup vnc server on remote pc
2nd get vnc listener software for client

now you have control over pc and you can start troubleshooting your rdc
without being at the office.

If remote is XP Sp2 hit start, run, gpedit.msc now navigate through Comput
Config, then Admin Templates, then click on Terminal Services

make sure the computer you connect to is set to accept remote desktop
connections...make sure router or firewall is forwarding port 3389 to the ip
address of the computer you are trying to access.....I'm tired good bye
hope it helps
