Hello, I bought a ATI video card that had a Studio 8 cd with it. I used
it to get video off of my HI 8 video camera. IT captures it and all
just fine, put it in a ATI file. I can't figure out how to change the
format, (trying to shring the file size some.
Do I have to copy it off of the video tape in my camera again as a
mpeg, or can I somehow copy it off the hard drive and change it?
Under the edit tab (capture edit make movie section) if I go under
setup there is a make real video file etc.. screen where you can change
resolution and all but nothing seems to happen, I don't even know if
it's on the file or not?
Thanks for any advice.

Regardless of the native capture format when one wants to change that format
a new file must be created. Use the "make movie" settings to make these
changes and then save that to a new file. The original video is then
"rendered" to a new file in the new format.

Is your ATI card the AIW? If so, use that to capture. That's what I

do and it gives me much more control over the sizes and formats.
