I currently have 2 Netgear MR814 Wireless cable/dsl routers with built in 4 port hub. One of these is still unopened, and I don't want to open it unless this will work properly... Can I use one as my main router, then share that same connection with the other router wirelessly? Basically, I want one upstairs to connect to the cable and connect to 3-4 machines. The other will reside downstairs and connect to my home theater devices. Can this be done, or so I have the wrong hardware?

Any help will be appreciated.

Thanks,
Drew

No, you'll need a dedicated workgroup bridge like the WET11 or an AP that has a WGB mode, what most SOHO AP's call "Client mode". The only caveat there is this can be proprietary. The WET11 is "supposed" to associate to any Vendors AP.

So basically, I'd be best served by getting a Netgera bridge then, correct?

If they make a workgroup bridge then that would certainly be one of your choices. They don't make dedicated bridges and you wouldn't want one if they did anyway. A netgear AP that has a "client mode" or something like the WET11.
