ffmpeg fails to wokr with amr_wb codec on Red Hat Linux

Hi,
I have a question to those who have experiance using ffmpeg.
I installed the latest CVS version including the amr audio
packages. The program works fine except for the amr_wb codec.
A command like

ffmpeg -i test.mpg -y -s qcif -ar 16000 -ac 1 -acodec amr_wb test.3gp

always results in an error message:

Could not write header for output file #0 (incorrect codec parameters ?)

I tried various sample rates and bitrates without any success. The
amr_nb codec works fine.
Does anyone have ahint to this problem or knows a newsgroup where this
problem can be put better? THanks in advance,
