I currently have firewire in and out and Premiere Pro but I have a project coming up that will require capture from SVHS, Hi-8 and DVD so I'm looking at some analog capture options. I'm trying to decide between a Canopus ADVC300 and a ADS Pyro AV Link Professional. A lot of people have recommended the Canopus and the image enhancement features look impressive but the ADS Pyro has component inputs which would be useful in capturing the DVD footage (provided I can't grab the footage directly off the disk) and comes with Premiere Pro 1.5 (which would allow me to sell my older version of Premiere on eBay for a couple of dollars), Encore DVD and Audition.
So do the image enhancement features and overall quality of the Canopus make it a better choice over the ADS Pyro? Does anyone have any opinions on the ADS Pyro?
