Costco is selling the Samsung 17" LCD TV model LNR-1742 for
$499. I can not find any online reference to this model, even
on the Samsung site. What looks like an almost identical model
is the Samsung 710MP. Visually it looks the same, it takes the
same inputs on the rear, but they are layed out differently.
Does anyone know if these models are equivalent. I am primarily
interested in using this as a TV in the kitchen off of a CATV
cable.

That's a pretty good price!

I'm curious tho...can this unit also be used as a
computer monitor as well as TV?

I'm kinda in market for one myself. Been looking at
dells offerings

Both can be used as a PC Monitor, and take a 15pin input. Don't
know the specs on the LN-1742, but for the 710MP, it has 1280 x
1024 native resolution.
